Calcutta Rescue Fund
Health, Education and Hope Calcutta Rescue Fund is a registered charity that works to make life better for people living in the slums and on the streets of Kolkata (Calcutta). It provides free medical care for poor and destitute people suffering from tuberculosis, leprosy, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, HIV/AIDS, infections and other life-threatening conditions. It offers maternity care to pregnant women and special feeding for malnourished babies. Calcutta Rescue also provides free education for children from the ten poorest slums, and skills training to enable poor people to become self-reliant. Calcutta Rescue Fund welcomes donations and volunteers. www.calcuttarescue.org.uk Calcutta Rescue Fund PO Box 16163 London SW4 7ZT Registered charity 290917 At The Natural Bag Company we care passionately about the welfare of the people in Kolkata, India, the city from which we source all our bags. Kolkata is truly mesmerising, full of the sights, sounds and smells that only this Indian city can produce. However, there are large numbers of people who have no access to healthcare or education and that is why we are extremely pleased to be able to help Calcutta Rescue, who work tirelessly to relieve suffering, by donating £0.01 for every single bag that we purchase. The charity is staffed mainly by volunteers which means that almost every penny that is donated has a direct, positive effect in the city. Thank you for your help and please keep looking back here as we will be posting regular updates. As seen on the BBC....As part of their eco gardening feature in the recent Hampton Court Palace Flower Show programme Rachel de Thame used one of our Large Luxury Jute Shoppers to carry her purchases! ....and now on Channel 4 (again!)
